Completed in 1894, the Hale Science Building at the University of Colorado at Boulder is a five-story structure of random coursed, local rusticated sandstone, with a high gabled-roof, projecting dormers, and a square tower housing the entry. Trees dot the yard of this edifice named after retiring Regent Irving Hale; Varsity Lake and the footbridge are in the foreground.
