Two men stand in a kiva (estufa), beside an adobe wall at Cliff Palace (later Mesa Verde National Park), Colorado. The men, identified by initials: "F.E.H." and "F.W.P.", wear wide brimmed hat, shirts or vests, slacks and boots with knee-high gaiters. A number "6" is engraved on the stone wall above the Native American (Ancestral Puebloan) dwellings.
