Men stand and pose inside a mine tunnel in the Anchoria Leland Mine near Cripple Creek (Teller County), Colorado. The miners wear work clothes and caps or hats and hold candles and sledgehammers. Probably Earl (or Charles W.) Howbert, the mine manager, stands on a ladder, he wears a jacket, vest, gloves and a necktie. Most of the men have mustaches. Some candles are mounted on the rock walls.
