German Lt. General Fridolin von Senger und Etterlin, commander of the German 14th Panzer Corps; 10th Mountain Division commander, Major General George P. Hays; and Brigadier-General Don Emerson Carleton, Chief of Staff 5th Army, Italy, discuss the terms of the German surrender in Verona, Italy. Lt. General Senger wears a wool great coat and a soft peaked cap. Major General Hays wears a trench coat and a peaked cap, and Brigadier-General Carlton wears a uniform with a shoulder patch with a logo that reads: "A5" and a crush cap.
