William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody leads a procession during a performance of Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. Cody holds a wide-brimmed hat at his right side and bows his head slightly. He wears a buckskin coat with tassles and small beads sewn on it in a pattern that forms bands of flowers. He wears gauntlets on his hands, and his boots cover part of his thighs. He is mounted on a dark horse. The horse's bridle is decorated with shells. A group of Native Americans on horseback is gathered in the left background behind Cody. Several of the Native Americans hold long spears. Tents cover the viewing stands in the right background where the audience sits.
