Notes	Photoprint has yellowed.; Printed on newsprint and attached to back of photoprint: "A big regional college baseball party is being planned by Colorado State at Greeley for Saturday, May 3, when the Colorado State Bears formally open their new Jackson field baseball park. Opponents for the bears will be Colorado Mines in Rocky Mountain conference play. Opening ceremonies will include a brief address by Dr. William R. Ross, president of the college, and a tribute to Charles N. Jackson of Greeley a former member of the board of trustees and a great booster for Colorado State sports activities. Jackson field, the school's athletic plant, is named in his honor. A bronze plaque will be unveiled in tribute to him. Extra bleachers are being arranged to handle the crowd. Former Bear players, former lettermen in other sports, coaches of high schools of Colorado and adjoining states, high school students and friends of Colorado State are being sent invitations to attend. The new field compares favorably with the best in the western region. The field is entirely turfed, except for the cut infield. The infield is turtle-backed, with a gentle slope from the pitchers mound to all bases. An electric scoreboard is provided. Grandstand and bleacher foundations are raised three feet above the field and the parapet is faced with red sandstone.
