ore
processing
.
It
was
sold
to
Professor
Albert
E
.
Chase
in
1881
,
who
was the
master
of the
Georgetown
school
until
1895
. The
building
was
designed
by
Colorado
architect
Robert
Roeschlaub
in the
Gothic
Revival
style
; the
front
of the
house
has a
large
narrow
central
gable
with a
four
double-hung
windows
that are
tall
and
narrow
.
Behind
the
gable
the
house's
roof
slopes
to the
front
and
back
. There
is
a
bay
window
and a
one-story
addition
on the
left
side
of the
house
, and the
entrance
is
in the
section
that
extends
to the
right
of the
central
gable
;
it
is
covered
by an
elaborate
Gothic
Revival
canopy
, and
matches
one
over
the
door
of the
addition
.
Four
finials
are
visible
on the
apexes
of the
gables
on the
house
. A
picket
fence
encloses
the
large
yard
, and a
girl
and a
boy
stand
in
front
of the
central
gable
.
Another
house
can
be
seen
on the
left
beyond
a
lattice
fence
, and
other
buildings
are
visible
beyond
a
fence
on the
right
. A
board
sidewalk
runs
in
front
of the
building
, and a
lamp
post
without
its
lamp
fitting
is
on the
left
in the
street
.
Republican
Mountain
fills
the
background
.
