William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody stands at the far left in front of a large group of people, mostly Native American men and women, in a camp for Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. The group is probably touring in Rome, Italy. Wearing a dark coat and holding a cane in his right hand, Cody stands next to Sioux Chief Rocky Bear. Rocky Bear holds a blanket around his waist and wears a breast plate, possibly made of bone. The front row of people squats down. Numerous other people stand behind them, including Annie Oakley and possibly her husband, Frank Butler, in the right midground.
