Title	Great hall at Glen Eyrie
Summary	Interior view of the Great Hall at Glen Eyrie, the mansion of General William Palmer near Manitou Springs, Colorado. The open beamed ceiling in this room with its oversized gothic carved stone fireplace characterizes the opulence of this mansion which grew from a lodge first built in 1871. A mezzanine at the end has panelling and an ornate wooden balustrade draped with Indian rugs and a romantic era oil with gilt frame, one of several in the room. Horned stag heads are ; on the upper left, a taxidermied eagle in flight is on a central table among piles of books and oriental rugs are strewn on the polished wood floor. A folding Savonarola style chair sits by the andirons in the fireplace; a chandelier with electric bulbs hangs from the ceiling.
