Chestnut Street was once the busiest street in Leadville, Colorado. Several horse-drawn wagons and pedestrians move along the busy street in front of businesses. John Lieninger's Book & Stationery store is next to D.L. Matthews' Notary Public and Justice of the Peace office. A law office and two doctors' offices are in the same building. Other businesses include A. Goldsoll's Loan Office, a bakery, a drug store, Charles Mater's Mercantile and Shoe Store, a candy store, hotel, and telegraph or telephone poles.
