Summary	Rancher Ailie "Dick" Smith, lies in a hospital bed after being wounded in the elbow during a shootout with prisoners at his ranch. The inmates, who included John Klinger, made an escape attempt from the State Penitentiary in Canon City (Fremont County), Colorado. A doctor in a white cap and gown checks his arm. An enamel tray and water glass with pipette are in the foreground.
