The Kemp family log cabin is framed by a circle in this image taken when the cabin was first completed in 1893 near Eldora in Boulder County, Colorado. Photographer Donald C. Kemp's father John H. Kemp was a mine operator in Central City in Gilpin County before deciding in 1891 to move his family north to Boulder County where he owned the Happy Valley Placer Mine.
