Summary	View of the Royal Gorge shows Hanging Bridge and the Royal Gorge suspension bridge in Royal Gorge in Fremont County, Colorado. A Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad train is on standard tracks beside the Arkansas River, shows a combination stone and concrete retaining wall.

Notes	Condition: losses around perimeter, retouched throughout.; Formerly F39694; Handwritten on back of photographic print: "Colorado 185, 5 3/8 wide, no crop, bleed top, o, l."; Paper affixed to the back of photographic print reads: "THE ROYAL GORGE, Grand Canon of the Arkansas, Colo., on the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad. Showing the new suspension bridge, for automobiles and pedestrians, over the top of the Gorge. This is the highest bridge of any kind in the world, being more than twice as high as the next highest. It is 1260 feet long and 1053 feet above the floor of the canon. Each of the two cables is 9 inches in diameter and contains 2100 strands of No. 9 steel wire. If two Washington Monuments could be placed end on end in the canon, the upper one would not reach to the top of the bridge towers.; Stamp on back of photographic print reads: "This scene is located on the Denver and Rio Grande Western R.R.
