Three Tenth Mountain Division soldiers have a picnic lunch in the snow at Resolution Pass, Colorado. The man in the center looks like the photographer, Jack Caldwell. According to him, his squad, part of the 86th Regiment, Company L, was noted for knowing how to raid the mess hall supply room to get lots of good food. Their lunch includes a loaf of bread, food in jars, cheese and crackers. Their coats, skis and poles are placed around them.
