Step House, a cliff dwelling in Mesa Verde National Park, lies under a massive rock wall. Shown before excavation, piles of rocks and mounds of dirt cover the location of the pithouses. The remains of a rock wall lie at the base of the rock overhang. Several men, including young Deric Nusbaum, Jesse's stepson, explore the site in the right foreground.
