A group of men stands in front of the First National Bank of Central City at the corner of Eureka and Main streets. Harry H. Lake worked at this bank for 47 years from 1860 until 1927. The building next to the bank complex is the Teller House, built between 1871 and 1872 and named for Henry M. Teller, one of Colorado's first senators. The sign next to the bank's entrance reads: "First National Bank Gold Bullion Exchange Bought & Sold. Sight drafts on all principal ; cities of the world." Power lines and telephone poles appear on dirt street in front of the bank.
