Summary	A corner of the 40-foot high, graveyard wall at the San Estevan del Rey Mission and convent at the Acoma Pueblo "Sky City" in New Mexico stands in the foreground. The small scale of two men, one standing at the top of the wall, one seated near him with his legs dangling over the wall, show the large scale of the structure. The wall is constructed on the edge of the mesa and encloses a 200-square-foot graveyard. Small, moulded heads, known as the "soldier guards" were ; added to the top of the wall during World War I. The flat-roofed, stone and adobe mission, thought to have originally been built by Fray Juan Ramirez between 1629 and 1641, stands in the background. It has two square steeples with a cross centered between them on the roofline. A portion of the window bearing another cross above the door is visible. A path has formed on the ground below the wall where people have walked. A pile of large rocks is in the right foreground.
