Condition: fold cracks.; Formerly F42600.; Newspaper clippings attached to back of photoprint reads: "National Children's Book Week - said to be the oldest of 200 or more special "weeks" celebrated each year in the United States - is being observed this week (Nov. 1-7) in libraries, schools and homes across the country. This 46th annual NCBW has special significance for the Denver Public Library which is marking its 75th year of service to Denver. In 1894, five years after the city library system was established, librarian John Cotton Dana opened a room planned for children and supplied with appropriate books, magazines and furniture. This was the first "Children's Library" in the United States" and "Three bookmobiles serve some areas of the city. At Whittier School, the first grade class visits during a stop. Mrs. Helen V.
