Suited men lean on an urn topping the bannister at the entry of this stone building at the State Penitentiary in Canon City, Colorado. Vines cover part of the corner and downspout, and jigsawn balustrades edge the footbridge over the City Ditch. A white picket fence has a watering can hanging on it, and a sprinkler is on the lawn in the foreground, by a power pole. The one-story structure in the background has battlements, arched windows and an incised panel on the pediment reading: "Hose No. 2."
