View northwest from Goat Hill over Caribou (9800 feet), a mining town in Boulder County, Colorado, includes scattered log, board and batten, wood frame false fronts, gabled and lean-to structures. Many have external timber braces for protection against the wind blowing from the Continental Divide. Businesses on Potosi Street include stores, saloons, restaurants and the post office. The Sherman House is on the corner of Potosi and Sherman Streets; "Baldly Mountain" (Bald Mountain) with light snow shows beyond the town.
