Summary	View northwest from Goat Hill over Caribou (9800 feet), a mining town in Boulder County, Colorado includes streets lined with log, board and batten, wood frame false fronts, gabled and lean-to structures. Many have external timber braces propped against them for protection against the strong west wind from the Continental Divide. Businesses on Potosi Street include stores, saloons, restaurants and the post office. The Sherman House is on the corner of Potosi and Sherman Streets. The schoolhouse is on a slope of stumps; "Baldly Mountain" (Bald Mountain) with light snow shows beyond the town.
