Many have external timber braces for protection against the wind blowing from the Continental Divide. Businesses on Potosi Street include stores, saloons, restaurants, and the post office. The three-story Sherman House hotel is on the corner of Potosi and Sherman Streets and the schoolhouse is bottom left.
