Notes
"Bucking contest took place where the Cogsriff Hotel now stands, in the heart of what is now downtown Craig. Date unknown, but probably around the turn of the century. The man on the bronc is Arthur Lyon. Second from the right is Phil Hott, and extreme right on white horse is George Watson. George Watson was Foreman for the "Sevens', owned by Pierce and Reef, when they first put steers on the northwestern Colorado range. They were one of the big outfits, ran around 20,000 head of steers in northwestern Colorado on the open range."--Handwritten on back of photoprint.; Formerly F12266.; Title hand-written on front of photoprint.; R7100074157
