The town of Aspen, Colorado, is situated between Aspen Mountain, formerly known as Ajax, and Shadow Mountain. Railroad tracks wind through the sparsely built foreground into the town. The Roaring Fork River runs through the trees on the right. Hallam Lake and Hunter Lake, which has a house built next to it, are visible in the trees. The buildings of the town are built on both sides of the tracks. New York Peak is in the background.
