Formerly F24826 and F36797.; Title inked on back of cabinet photograph, with: "(now occupied by Grant's Store) 1871 until 1882 when the "Bancroft Block" office bldg was erected on this site. Dr. Bancroft is in corner - Geo. Bancroft is holding "Old Joe" a fast trotter that won several races for Dr. Bancroft - about 2:30 - not impressive now. Mrs. Bancroft is holding Frederic Wolcott Bancroft (now a distinguished surgeon in K. Y.) as she sits in the corner house. Mary Bancroft is holding her her pet lamb inside the corner house. Louis Manhoff a Russian consumptive whom Dr. Bancroft befriended is in background. He was first watchman & later secretary to Dr. Bancroft. He Married Katrinka, the cook, and later moved to Witchita & prospered. Katrinka is the figure on the side porch and the second maid is the other. This picture was taken about 1882 - address of house was 393 Stout St. Picture is taken looking north on Stout from vacant lot next door."; R7100262386
