Summary	View of a crowd after a race on July 4, 1897, in Georgetown, Colorado, east on Sixth (Alpine) Street. Men in dark suits or band uniforms, women in white shirtwaists or dresses and hats, and children in knickers or white dresses mill about and talk in groups at 6th and Rose St. eastward; a rope used to contain people during the race still runs along the sidewalk. A standard reading "Golden Rule" is still held by the side of the street. People lean and look out windows of the brick two-story Fish Block, which is decorated with bunting; the Clear Creek County Bank is on the first floor at the corner of the building.
