View of the interior of a printing shop in Georgetown, Colorado. Cabinets and trays for type are along one wall, and a row of wood columns are in the middle of the room. A stovepipe, window and door are on the back wall. Three men are at the counter in the foreground; Ch (?) Steele, wearing a hat with a rounded crown, a cravat, and suit, leans on the counter; Frank Hood, wearing a suit and a small bow tie sits behind the counter with his arms crossed; and a third man wearing a vest and sleeve protectors stands behind with his arms crossed. A screw press, a scale, a vessel, a bottle, a paper holder, and scattered papers sit on the counter, and a cord hangs from the ceiling to behind the counter. A cabinet behind the counter is covered with papers; papers are held by a cast iron paper holder; a paper printed "Colorado" is beneath; pictures of women are visible pinned to the side. Papers also fill the compartments on the open side of the cabinet. A large double globe lamp hangs over the counter, and a elaborate oil lamp hangs behind. A large framed picture of a nine-story building with a turret and other Gothic details at the roof line hangs prominently on the wood column just behind the counter.
