Title	Central City water supply
Summary	The Central City, Colorado, water supply wagon, which delivered water to the city from the eighteen seventies to the mid-eighties, when the city's water pipes were laid. The wagon, which is drawn by two teams of mules, stands next to the wood-plank sidewalk beneath a barren and rocky hillside. One man, George Wilson, who is wearing a suit, long boots, and a hat, holds the teams of mules. His brother, Dick, is driving the wagon, and two other men, one sitting and the other standing, are at the end of the wagon, which has "Wilson Bros" painted on the side.

Notes	Formerly F7529.; Hand-written on back of photoprint: Geo. W. Wilson and Bro. Dick during the time they were running the dairy piped water into Central City from springs on their ranches 2 1/2 miles west of the city. Geo. W. cut trees into logs 10 ft. long 8 inches thick through which he bored holes by hand with a 2 inch auger and coupled them together with iron rings which were made 3 inches wide 1/16 in. thick sharpened on both sides, welded together in 4 inch bands. In the summer of 1874 they started delivering water to the city for domestic use at 35 c. per barrel, also to some of the mines for their boilers. The above picture is one of their tanks and wagons. Geo. W. holding team by their heads, his brother driving. In 1890 they sold to the city. Their old rock barn still stands at the upper end of Eureka Street. After selling they moved to their farm 50 miles north of Denver close to Berthoud.; Photoprint is slightly yellowed with age and the edges are slightly worn.; Title hand-written on back of photoprint.; R7100026992
