View near 5th (Fifth) on Argentine Street looking south towards Leavenworth Mountain. The mountain is covered with snow, mine entrances and two figures are visible. The unpaved street has a long fence on which is painted, in extreme perspective, "Smoke Bull Durham"; a boy climbs over it. A street lamp is on the board sidewalk. Brick and wood construction houses are on the right side of the street, including Italianate and Gothic Revival styles; most have picket fences. A sign "Commercial Hotel" is on a building at the end of the street. In the muddy street two boys in a two wheeled cart are pulled by a burro.
