Exterior view of the Manitou Bath House, in Manitou Springs, Colorado. This three story frame structure, built in the Queen Anne style, has clipped gable roofs, ridge cresting, square corner towers that extend a floor above the main building, a northern tower with a lookout, and an open air porch on the main floor with a balcony on its roof that serves the second floor bay. Built in 1881, this enterprise offered 20 bathrooms with hot or cold water, a 32 x 33 foot plunge, 32 dressing closets, home- like parlours offering music and games, and a resident physician. In the foreground is a rail fence and a rustic gazebo is to the left, in which a boy sits. In the center, a man in a frock coat and planter hat stands at the stone ring around the Shoshone Spring; to the right is the footbridge across Fountain Creek. A gable roofed house is in the right, and hills fill the background.
