View in Manitou Springs, Colorado, looking north, probably from the Barker House. Central in the image is the Cliff House Hotel; its north wing is a three story frame structure with a hipped gable roof, a widow's walk, canvas awnings on the windows and a wrap around open air porch. A square central tower with hipped roof extends above the main roof line; a sign on it at the level of the main roof soffit reads: 'Cliff House'. The south wing is a two story gable roofed structure with two dormers and a four story faceted tower at the south end. The tower also has a sign on the third floor that reads: 'Cliff House'. On the left is the Johnny Nolon residence, a four story hip roofed structure with dormers and a round stone tower with a bell roof and lookout. Trees obscure the lower details of the Cliff house, and electric wires cross the image; scrub and rock covered hills fill the background. A tiny portion of the Soda Spring Pavilion is visible in the lower left.
