Summary	View of a horse race on Alpine Street (Sixth Street) in Georgetown, Colorado, on the Fourth of July. Groups of men stand in the street looking west; people sit on balconies under umbrellas. A uniformed man on a horse rides east. The street is decorated with American flags, bunting, and awnings printed with stars and stripes; telephone or telegraph poles line both sides of the street. Recognizable landmarks include: the Masonic Lodge, the Fish Block, the Cushman Block, and the tower of the Star Hook and Ladder firehouse. Griffith Mountain fills the background.
