A Platoon of approximately fifty soldiers from the Tenth Mountain Division, 87th Regiment, Company G stand at attention with their skis balanced on their ski poles. All the men are wearing caps, anoraks, wool pants, boots with shoepacks; they carry knapsacks and rifles. Homestake Mountain is visible directly behind the men; Mount Massive is partially visible.

Notes	A platoon of "G" Co. 87th. Notice Homestake Mt. directly in the center. Mt. Massive is partially shown in the extreme left corner (14,421'). Mt. Elbert is just out of the left and corner (14,430') handwritten in ink on reverse. A platoon of "G" Company (87th) Notice Homestake Mountain directly in rear -- Mt.
