The Central City Mining Museum is housed in a old mine. It is a one and one-half story structure with the enclosure for the elevator machinery above the gable of the roof. An addition to the building, which has a flat roof and a large window, extends to the left of the building. The large, square opening to the mill building is closed, and the window over the door has been boarded up. The building has two large smokestacks in the rear. A piece of mining machinery with spoked wheels is parked in front of the building. A structure with a flat roof is visible in the left foreground.
