Summary	In this group portrait of the first students and teachers to move into the new Agate Public School in Elbert County, Colorado, the high school and primary students wear jackets and caps. The girls wear dresses and there are a few men in suits on the far left. There are about 38 people in the portrait. The brick school has an entry with a broken pediment gable, a double door entry with an arched transom, intersecting rooflines, a brick chimney, and, on one side, a second-story with gabled hip roof and four sash windows.
