View shows W. P. A. students learning the art of placer mining by using a rocker on the banks of an unidentified stream, Denver, Colorado. A rocker consists of a screen box on top draining to a larger box below which is inlaid with riffles to catch the valuable material. The whole contraption is "rocked" back and forth in order to separate sediments of different densities.
