The county seat of Clear Creek County, is the great center of silver mining in Colorado. Population, 3,000. Situated in the beautiful valley of Clear Creek, at an elevation of 8,400 feet above sea level. Product of the mines of Clear Creek County in 1874, from carefully compiled statistics, $2,368,781.95. Distances: To Denver 50 miles; to Idaho Springs, 14 miles; to Gray's Peak, (ele. 14,341 ft.), 14 miles; to Middle park, 22 miles; to Hot Sulphur Springs, 48 miles, 48 miles."; R7100114402
