Notes
Title penciled on back of photoprint, with: "[probably summer 1913] looking east. Left skyline is SW flank of Cornwall Mt. Timbered slope to right is Mammoth Mtn. Peak in left center background is Red Mt. At base of brushy slopes to left foreground is Lake Fork of the Conejos River. Building with flag in right foreground was general store, probably that of Trude H. Glatz. Cornwall soon bought lot to the east of it and built cabin. Otto Blake owned large cabin in left foreground. He was one of original old timers of Platoro - still living there in fall of 1951. Two large tents were the Platoro Hotel. Cabin beyond was barber shop. Across street was the Post Office. Long cabin, left center, with 2 windows was later owned by Hook bros., George and Frank (?). About where the last tent on left appears became the location of a two-story frame bldg., built by Sheeley in 1935 when he attempted to revive the Mammoth Mine on a stock selling basis. Mammoth Mine is out of picture (towards camera) to the right, at the base of Mammoth Mtn."; R7100130563
