Summary	This shingle sided structure in North Empire, Clear Creek County, Colorado, has one side of its gable roof built into the hillside; dormers are at ground level. John Dumont built the structure, used as a dormitory for employees of the Boston Mine Company (active between 1872 and 1873). It was later used by Silver Mountain properties as a machine shop.

Notes	Title inked on back of photoprint, with: "used the house as a boarding house for his mines - operated about 1872-73 - house dates from then - put graphite and oil on shingle - (used shingles for siding of houses) gave a blue look. Later used by nebors [sic] for machine shop for mill and put forge in when operating mill for Silver Mountain properties. D. K. Peterson photo June - 1960."; R7100125186
