. A
colonnade
extends
the
length
of the
building
; a
balustrade
and
windows
top
the
first
level
. With
three
distinct
levels
, the
building
shows
details
of
dentils
,
cornices
,
balustrades
, and
windows
. The
corners
have
towers
topped
by
open
cupolas
,
ionic
columns
, and
American
flags
.
Neo-classical
statuary
and
American
flags
on
pediments
stand
opposite
the
building
in a
garden
beyond
the
Grand
Canal
.
Workmen
labor
near
the
canal
, and a
well-dressed
man
