The Fort was built to house United States Army troops charged with protecting Yellowstone National Park from poachers, souvenir hunters and developers. Shows multi-storied frame buildings built to house officers and their families. The buildings have cross gabled roofs with dormers, brick chimneys and attached porches with entrances on either side. The cavalry barracks are wood frame and have flared hipped roofs, cupola ventilators, dormers and brick chimneys. The buildings have wrap-around porches. The Army Corps of Engineers building is in the distance. It is a stone, square building with a hipped roof, and a covered porch with wide pillars. An unidentified building nearby has a roof balustrade and a double porch with balustrades and a pediment supported by pillars. A large unidentified building has a cross gable roof, a tower with a gambrel roof and a cupola and flagpole. A large sliding door is reached by a raised ramp. The front of the building has a covered porch supported by large posts. The building has a logo that includes a bear. Shows horse-drawn wagons and carriages near a long low building with a shed roof and cupola ventilators, possibly the commissary.
