Summary |
Studio portrait of Hispanic American Francisco Rivera, his wife Benigna Córdova de Rivera and their children, a boy and three girls. Identification: Front row Adelina. Back row, left to right: Francisco, Tobias, Lucinda, Cidelia, and Benigna Córdova de Rivera. Adelina wears a wool, embroidered dress with a lace collar and a bead necklace. Francisco wears a herringbone, wool suit. His hair is parted on the side and he has a full, bushy mustache. Tobias wears a wool dress with velvet panels and cuffs and a lace collar. Lucinda wears a dark dress with a lace collar and a cross. Cidelia wears a dark silk dress with velvet lapels, a lace collar, her long curly hair is parted and pulled back. Benigna wears a long, dark, embroidered silk dress with a Basque with puffed sleeves and cuffs. She wears a bow shaped pin and a chain. Her dark hair is pulled up into a bun. |

They were successful farmers until 1947. Francisco was born May 3, 1859 in Taos, New Mexico and died October 14, 1950 in Denver. Benigna Córdova de Rivera was born December 25, 1863 in the San Luis Valley in La Culebra, Colorado and died September 29, 1947 in Denver.
