View of a cabin located in the town of Gothic, Gunnison County, Colo. The single story log cabin has a stone chimney and tin metal roof and sits in a lush valley surrounded by wild flowers, Evergreen trees and a view of Gothic Mountain in the background. Established in the 1870s with the discovery of silver ore, Gothic was virtually abandoned by 1896. In 1928, the entire town site was purchased by Dr. John Johnson to establish the Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory.
