View of a replica of a sod house at the Plains Conservation Center in Aurora (Arapahoe County), Colorado. The soddy, made from sod bricks covered with a layer of scored mud, has a slightly sloped roof, a tall chimney pipe, a single window with large wooden shutters and an inset door frame with a solid wooden door. A large wood rain barrel sits next to the house just under the roof, and a small wooden bench is next to the door. The house is in the middle of a field that has a light dusting of snow.
