African American Ethel, the owner and cook for Ethel's House of Soul poses outside her restaurant located at 2622 Welton Street in the Five Points neighborhood in Denver, Colorado. The one story brick buff brick building was built in 1949. The building has an overhang rimmed in stainless steel and glass brick windows. A sign reads: ""Ethel's Soul Cafe" and sign painted on the brick reads: "Soul." Ethel opened her cafe in 1971.
