Full-Text	[52] P.T. Barnum Sep 17 1878 Bridgeport, CT. My Dear Judge Enclosed please see letter from Mr Chaffee. Mr Kemen[?] of Chicago a Denver large shareholder in Villa Park tells me confidentially that he once had it arranged with a majority of the municipal offices in Denver to vote this Park into a public Park for which Denver was to pay a big price & they (the city morguates,[?]) to … chances in the speculations It would quantify me if some big thing could be got up by men of influence who would take their commision in the way indicated by Mr. Kemen [?]. Sherwood keeps running up & down to & from New York but has not seen me yet. I feel sure he will never willing secure me a penny that he owes me that is not secured. YT [Yours Truly] P.T. Barnum
