about 830 the insurgents started
an attack on the South Dakota
our Post in the Tondo District
and drove the out Post in
about 300 yards. they rallied
and got to there out post
and held it until reinforcements
came, by nine oclock they

Volleys in return, at 830 Sunday morning
Major Anderson with three companies
made a charge on block house #6 on
there lines, and about 500 yards distant
from our own (I say Maj [Major] Anderson it was
his battalion, but Gen. [General] Hale and Colonel
McCoy was in it too) this surprised
the insurgents, they thought they
had us buffaloed because we did
not answer there fire. They we
advanced by rushes and when in
150 y or 200 yards from the blockhouse
