Milner Denver Colo My Dear Friend The excitement here has been at the lighest point possible, and not amo amount to any thing since my last letter. But it quited down for a couple of days and is in a fair way to be with us again tonight. Our company is on out.Post duty tonight and have the strictest orders that have ever been recieved since we have been in the city. Several natives have been Killed by our boys on duty in the past week. the first two was by a South Dakota man. He was on guard at one of the Hospitals, saw two natives approaching his post. He challenged them and they answered that they were friends and advanced them. They greeted him with “Buenos Noches Senor” (Good night evening sir) hardley had the words left
