CHUN Board of Delegates Meeting
October 26, 1978
Capitol Hill Community Center
The meeting was called to order by President Dan Paulien at 7:30 p.m.
Board members present were Dene Clark, Ray Fisher, Hugh Gardner,
Michael Henry, Jim Hill, John Hitch, Sarah Hite, Marcia Hughes,
Bernie Jones, Gerri Lane, Paul Mahoney, Rosie Mahoney, Tom Potter,
JoAnn Soker, Joyce Thorn, Charles Trainer, Rose Kapolczynski.
Others in attendance (including nursing students from Loretto Heights
College) were Nancy Barown, Donna Black, Michelle Harrington, Rosemary Perea, Norma Oldham, Ed Tilton, Sue Kenney, Kathy Allen Mary
Anne Guillot, Teri Abraham, Jock McNulty.
The September minutes were approved as corrected.
Dan mentioned the following board resignations since our last meeting:
John Bermingham, Mike and Lu Sanders. Through nonattendance Susan
Jessie and Andy Chikos are no longer on the board. Norma Oldham and
Mel Carter were nominated to the CHUN Board of Delegates. These
nominations were seconded and approved.
Dan noted that at the CHUN General Membership Meeting held October 19
CHUN took a stand for the minority plan of the Air Pollution Control
Commission and for the proposed Police Commission.
PeopIe^s Fair Allocation Committee. John Ozello is going to be out
of the county. Bernie Jones moved that John Hitch replace him on
this committee. The motion was seconded and passed. The five members chosen by the People's Fair Committee to be on the Allocation
Committee are Sally Barton, Gail Block, Norma Oldham, Larry Ramsdale,
Jock McNulty.
Treasurer's Report. A Financial Summary from 9/27/78 - 10/24/78 was
distributed. Expenses totaled $1,257.03. Income was $4,891.25,
leaving a balance on hand of $3,634.22.
Membership - Marcia Hughes. It was decided to postpone the choice
of a CHUN logo until next board meeting. The following dues structure
was moved, seconded and passed:
$1 Hardship dues
$5 Individual
$8 Family
$15 Small business
$25 Large business
House Tour. Rosie Mahoney mentioned that she appreciated everyone's
help. According to the Treasurer's Report, expenses were $549.57,
receipts $3,190.40 for a profit of $2640.83. Rosie moved that Jim
and Sharon Hill be next year's co-chairmen of the house tour. The
motion was seconded and passed. A yeport of this year's tour with
suggestions for the future was circulated. The Board expressed its
appreciation to Rosie and her committee for the spectacular job done.
Land Use Committee. JoAnn Soker reported that the committee has
successfully convinced the city to buy the site at the NW corner of
10th and Pennsylvania as a mini park, although the price has skyrocketed and is now appraised at $150,000. She has 4ieard nothing
