MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CAPITOL HILL UNITED NEIGHBORHOOD November 29, 1973 The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by President Mike Henry. Present were Mike Henry, Ed Haynes, Mike Gilbert, Don Bain, David Knauber, Cathy Donahue, Peggy Hart, David Fletcher and Cathy Krendl. Excused were Mary McAlister, Patti Jackson, Rhonda Knop, and Dale Hart. President Henry welcomed guests from the Model Cities Program and Don Bain, a new member of the board. President Henry announced that he had extra copies of the Newsletter for the board members to pass out to prospective new members and that the board should pick up such copies as they would need after the meeting. He reminded the board that memberships would expire at the end of the year and that dues for 1974 should be paid immediately. President Henry further announced that Rhonda Knop had formed a task force to study the problem of financing older homes in Capitol Hill and that a committee meeting for that purpose would be held on December 3, 1973, at 8:00 P.M. at 1260 Corona. It was also announced that an RTD citizen forum,,designed to elicit citizen opinions in regard to the routing of the PRT corridors, would be held at the Botanical Gardens in the\ large hall on December 3, 1973. In addition, the Denver Regional Council of Governments will hold a meeting on December 5, 1973, at 7:30 P.M. in the Auditorium of the Colorado Division of Highways at 4201 East Arkansas, to discuss proposed plans and programs for public transportation and highways. Public testimony is solicited at this meeting. Cathy Donahue requested that CHUN permit she and Caroline Resnick to take a stand at the Denver Regional Council of Government Meeting on the 5th against the use of funds for the development of highways and in favor of the use of funds for mass transit. The board urged Cathy and Caroline to take such a position. It was moved and seconded that the board forego^the December meeting. Discussion followed and the motion passed. President Henry reminded the board that CHUN will hold its first public forum on December 13, 1973, at Dagwell Hall at 7:30 P.M., on Denver's Annexation Policy. Bob Jfoe'4 and Carol Tempest have both agreed to attend, and Kate Stonington has agreed to moderate.
